Sports Premium
PE and Sport Funding
The government is providing additional funding of £150 million per year to enhance the provision of physical education (PE) and sport in primary schools. This funding, jointly provided by the Departments for Education, Health, and Culture, Media and Sport, will be distributed to primary school headteachers.
At Kelsall Primary School, we are dedicated to using our Sport Premium Funding to achieve and exceed the following five key objectives:
- Ensure all pupils regularly engage in physical activity
- Elevate the profile of PE and sport throughout the school
- Enhance the confidence, knowledge, and skills of staff in delivering PE and sport
- Expand the variety of sports and activities available to all students
- Boost participation in competitive sports
For the 2024/25 academic year, we have identified priorities that will enable us to meet these objectives with confidence:
- Maintain a strong emphasis on physical activity throughout the school
- Encourage participation in a diverse range of sports and activities
- Continue increasing the frequency of regular physical activity for all pupils
- Continue staff development through training to improve the planning and delivery of PE lessons
- Further develop the Dance curriculum
- Enhance engagement of pupils with SEND in extracurricular sports
- Promote girls' football, ensuring high visibility and competitive opportunities
- Increase opportunities for our EAL pupils to participate in sports outside of school
- Broaden access to sporting activities and events for our disadvantaged and EAL pupils
- Ensure all students meet the required swimming standards
